Just posting this for the ones that wanted to hear the growling sound!!!

This is not my vid...but one I have found on Arofanatics...hope it's ok

Turn your speakers high, and listen closely....about half way through the vid.....you'll see the larger male, do a quick shimmy, and then the growl/grunt....:headbang2

I will try to post vids of mine soon.....

The grunt/growl in person is quick loud, and your able to hear it a few feet away....

I have also encountered different types of grunting from the male..

enjoy

Awsome sound, kind of like a crocodile mating call.

Good point....acutually pretty close to Croc sound....the Croc vibrates as the water boils over on his back.

The Aro also does the vibration, as the growl comes out....at times it's just the mouth area vibrating, and other times, it's 2/3 of his upper body...his pelvic fins going like a hummingbird.

Might be a prehistoric thing

i have heard of this too in the article written by the japanese dude who was breeding aros in his basement whilst recording video and audio.
good luck with them.
