get the biggest tank possible so u said 5 was the biggest so might as well get a 5x2.5.x2 but i would say the miniuim for a jar alone is 6x2x2 but since you want two oscars i think you would need like 7x2.5x2

And since no one mentioned it yet I figured I'd let you know those Oscar are going to love you for feedin' them those tasty little Clown Loach. ;)

The growth difference between the two is so extreme that even if you get your O at like 1" they'll turn those Loach into lunch within 6 months. Plus you already mentioned that the Loach are small. Only way for CL and O to really co inside is to have those Loach decently LARGE to begin with. I wish it weren't so but that's just how it is. My school are still growing out in another tank waiting to go in my tank with my single O.

^^ I was thinking this actually, lol thanks for the input.... im going to get some measurements of my room...

im going for a 5x2.5x2 :D it will house a jardini, and 2 oscars, pleco... and LARGE clowns (for 2 years at most) :) I hope you guys will like the setup once its completed :D !!

Thread is pointless.
You are asking for advice.
You get correct advice from (IMO) one of the best people to possibly give you advice and you don't like it.
Next person comes along tells you "you might be able to get away with it", and boom your mind is made up!

Fact is IMO, you need to choose something more suitable, and listen to Brian!
Thats how it always works around here bro.

I really don't see that stock working out at all.

Jardini - Needs a larger tank than that in less then 1 year.
Oscars - 2 Oscars in that tank would be pushing it with just those two alone because of the bioload.
Pleco - If it's a common pleco then it's just adding to the bioload and growing rather large itself.
Large Clown Loaches - These are hard to find, expensive and as someone else mentioned you need to have at least 5 of them. The only vendor I have seen that would be big enough to put with an 'O' for sale is Rapps that has them at 7.5"-8" for $150 USD Each ($138 AUD)

very often isn't 2 years! ya ur jardini is going to rampage ur whole "small" tank. Try some large bichirs in ur tank. very expensive in australia i beliee though.

I agree that two Oscar in a tank only 5ft long is definitely pushing it and is a hit or miss with aggression once they hit maturity within roughly 8-10 months. Also wanted to add to the pleco comment if it's NOT common that's going to grow large and one of the smaller species it's just going to turn into O lunch so either way any pleco in general isn't lookin' like a good idea.

Any thread that helps you learn is not pointless... I have learnt and did everything proper for all the fish I have had so far. Since I have never had a Jar... and since I have seen ppl keep a jark in a 5x2.5x2 I was wondering if they were doing it wrong or right.

You talk in a very rude manner, so let me talk to you how you talked to me... this is not medical science, so don't try to make it like im about to conduct open heart surgery mate... keeping a jardini is not medical science.
So stop trying to make yourself look "COOOL" with your "i get a post count" posts.

Im trying to gain input, so i dont buy and kill a fish by stressing it out.

I came to ask suggestions on if it was possible to keep a 3-4 inch jardini in that tank with 2 oscars for 2 years. so the conclusion is no... BECASE the jardini would out grow that "SMALL" tank as you say.... in 1 year (did not know in 1 year a jardini woud hit 2.5 ft-3). IF i can't get a saratoga i won't buy a 5x2.5x2 ill just replace my old 55gal and buy a new one...

Im not going to force myself into buying a jardini after all this, and id appreciate it you dont just call someones post pointless.
