Arowana stung!!

so my rtg got In a bit of a scuff with my motoro and got stung. Has this happened to anyone else? He's looking pretty hurt and not moving much. This Aro seems to have bad luck as he's still recovering from getting his fin ripped off by a power head. (Now removed)

It looks very inflamed hope it doesn't effect the use of its gills :(
 
I hope so hes a nice looking fish , is there anything that can be used for anti-inflammatory medication ? Anti bacterial will help keep the swelling from spreading further
 
As you say, it's got size and condition on its side, nice big healthy chunky fish. I would assume there's not much you can do directly, same as when Jim's BD male got stung, separate if you can or if it's in a tank with aggressive tankmates. Perhaps keep lights off and up the O2 levels for good measure? Perhaps a little salt dosing to speed up recovery of the wound it self. Good luck mate

Nice looking Aro and bad luck on the sting, hope he pulls through. I can totally understand how you are feeling right now!! Not sure what you can do though other than to make sure he is as comfy as possible, no stress factors, lights out and seperate may help. Best of luck mate hope you have better luck than i did with my ray geting stung.
 
I lost a 28" clown knife due to a stinger that broke off into his lower jaw within 4 hours of getting stung. Also a 15" datnoid a year later during a mix up during feeding I hope your aro makes it I started cutting the barbs after losing the two fish
