Arowana swimming funny (video link)

Just posting this mainly to see if My arows swimming pattern is normal, he is constantly up against the glass and i am worried about his barbels, and sometimes his gill will curl out after swimming against the galss alot. So what do you al think? Other arow owners is this normal does urs do this?
I just dont understand he has 8ft of tank to swim in and he just rubs up against the glass the whole time.

Great lookin tank, but its got to be one heck of a nitrate factory. What is your filter set up and whats your water change schedule?

As for the aro, my 16" does that sometimes I think he may just be saying that he is hungry.
 
20 ppm nitrates baby, 300 gallon wet/dry, fx5 and a xp3/uv sterilizer 50% water change oncea week.
 
I agree that the tank looks very crowded. Reminds me some LFS display tanks I've see. Looks fine, but I would seriously consider getting another tank or two if it were me. You would see more natural behavior from the fish, rather than the dazed, incarcerated look. The aro looks normal to me.
 
mine does this too and he is in a tank with lots of room. i always thought he was seeing his reflection in the side of the tank and backing up. I think its normal but i still agree on the tank being overcrowded. if he gets much bigger he might end up making some more room for himself by eating a few of the smaller fish you got in there.
