  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
like i said just a thought one of your pics looks like the pic was taken right when he was in the current... mine did this when young but only when the current was pushing him that way... swim bladder could be... but i have seen my buddies flagtail swim like this (different fish i know but just another thought) it did it because it can't see out of one eye... can he see outta both eyes.. just another thought

anyone knows what the problem is? any fixes for swim bladder?

My mate does it all the time for parrots. Get some metro medication from your chemist and you inject that into the it's mouth. You should be able to get more info from your local fish shop.

So i have a baby silver aro about 5" long. just got rid of its egg sac a few weeks ago. I've used the search function and it came up with issues about water quality, insufficient space, etc. The thing is, he's very active, still eats sticks like a pig, and seems healthy. The only thing wrong is that he is slightly swimming on his side. Any idea what could be causing this?

currently in a 150
fx5, (2) ac 500, and mag 350
w/c = 1-2x weekly

My fish (including my Silver Aro) swim like that (a bit tilted but not to that extent) when the tank lights are off and the ambient lights are on.

So, one reason might be that the ambient lights (in the room) are brighter than the tank-lights..This can be fixed easily.

Another reason might be that the Aro can't see properly through one of its eyes.

These are the only two reasons I can think of besides the ones already mentioned here (current in the water, swim bladder disease, etc)

Good luck,
Sid

I tried to turn off all the lights, and just leave the tank light on.. he got a little bit better, but not totally straight. do you think it'll improve over time?
