arowana tank longevity???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Generally aquarium dimensions are stated in Length x width x height. This may clear up some confusion.

You are not looking at very much time with the 4 foot tank, better to start with at least a 6 footer

While how big a tank would I need for 2 motoros and 1-2 black aros?
how big grow out & how big for adult?

You could start out with a 125, but then your aro will outgrow that pretty fast, might as well start with a 180 (6x2x2) first, it's also less hectic with your rays. These things are like vaccums...they eat alot and crap alot=spoiled water very fast.

k. a 180 will last what...a year? if so that sounds right to me.
Should be able to last you a bit longer than a year.

Also should the aros or motoros go in first?
Id say let the motoros go in first. Theres a high chance you're going to freak out your arowana when adding new fish into the tank so you might as well add the motoros first. Also a good idea to get a black maybe twice as long as the motoro's disc, when rays get hungry, they'll take out literally everything.

Cool. Sounds like I got a plan!;)
Oh one more question, what about rtc/motoro tank, or rtc aro tank, or just add an rtc?

You could probably add an RTC later on when everything has grown to a larger size as your RTC will probably outgrow everything in the tank. Also a good note, catfish just like rays, eat and crap alot, you'd have to invest in some VERY good filtration.
