Arowana tank mates ??

Would I be able to add a small species of sting to my tank I have a 125 gallon with two small 6 inch arowanas should I wait until they get bigger

Any suggestions on stingrays preferring a smaller species that goes well with aros

Hi there. Most stingrays could live with aro. Issue is tank is a bit small. Minimum is 180 gal, also the smallest stingray-hystrix- is sort of the hardest to keep as well.

In the end the bio load of the stingray (if unmanaged properly) may end up killing the ray as well as the aro.

Tank is too small. But Motoros are cheap and one of the easier rays to care for but they get big. Hystrix are the smallest I believe.

But once you get a tank large enough for those to Arows then you can get a ray.

In all honesty, I grew out my aro and two retic rays in a tank smaller then a 125. Have a very good filtration system and be anal about testing your water as well as changes and you would be fine with the rays for a while (retic or hystrix only) if purchased as a pup. If you plan to upgrade your tank for sure you could get a year or so out of your 125, keep a close eye on ammonia as rays create alot of it. It's a passion in the *** keeping rays in a smaller tank as a grow out but it can be done if you put in the work. Good luck!
