Arowana tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The thing with silvers is that they grow really big and long. HUGE TANK is necessary otherwise they will grow deformed. I would suggest using a canister for filtration. And if you can add more filtration, the better! Don't put too much substrate. Mine is not even an inch high. As for plants... I personally don't put plants cuz I like to keep it simple and easy to maintain.

**I suggest you read threads on aro keeping before you get one.

I saw a picture an Iranian aquarium which consist of 97% Sand and 3% water.

how did he do it? you must show us some pics or we'll never believe you.. :D:D:D it's just way out of my league.. but maybe the tank was as large as the ocean that 3% water could house a school of aripama..:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

OMG there goes another silver aro thread with a bunch of bad information :nilly: if you plan on keeping this fish FOR LIFE, then you should plan on a tank thats at least 8ft long and 3ft wide. a 180 (6x2x2) would be good for several years as some have said but is definately too small to house this fish for its entire life.

As for plants and gravel, thats all subjective and it depends on what you like. but just remember, the more open room the aro has to swim in the better
