  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Unfortunately I have no idea what you do and do not know about arowana. So to avoid any further redundant interjections, I'll just stop giving any other advice or useful info regarding arowana in any of your threads.

Good luck with your fish.

Please have a look at this video.. a fellow mfker posted this..

thought this might help.. i assume your tank is similar shaped.. though your aro is not as large as this.. i agree with brian(bderick67) on the tank size and other info.. brian does come across point blank at times(no offence brian :grinno: ) but he does seem to have a valid thing here.. its jus a suggestion and at mfk i guess we are here to help each other.. hope your aro is doing better now.. do keep us posted mate..

Lol, was my post offensive? Never mind.

No, that's a trapezoid tank. It's also a much smaller tank for a much larger arowana.

I entered the room today, and saw the arowana swimming peacefully for an instant, then the fish spotted me and dashed back like mad. I'm baffled, it wasn't acting like this a few days ago. I'm afraid to go near the tank.

Thanks. It seems the fish is happy as long as we're not around, lol.

And that was why I suggested you spend time in the room so the fish becomes accustomed to you. Most of my fish react very differently when my friends approach the tanks. And as soon as I approach, they're fine again. Aros most definitely get to know and remember people.

Thanks for the advice. My working table is in front of the tank. The fish seems to be ignoring me if I'm sitting down.

Get up and move around the room slowly and then sit down again. Make some exaggerated movements but do so slowly. Feed him smaller amounts more frequently and he'll start to know you as the thing that gives him food. It tends to speed up the introductory phase.

My experience has been that each and every single aro behaves differently. I think your guy needs a little more face time.
