Arowana with Discus?!!?!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i have a jardini & a couple silvers with discuss. i see no problems so far just that one my the silvers out grew the other aro's and tried to go after one my baby discuss so. i would just tell people to make shure u have discuss a god size bigger then the aro'z mouth

I've seen blacks, silvers and asians mixed with discus. Should work with full sized discus and small to medium arowanas. Feed the discus bloodworms, the arowana will probably ignore the smaller worms. And you could feed the arowana some sort of floating arowana stick or something like that.

I've also seen altum angels kept with a black arowana and some leopoldi rays. That set up was sweet. I saw it on some European stingray site.

Those are beautiful shots of picture, but i must say that it is possible to have silver arowana with discus. But you really need to plan this move at an early stage when they are young.
At the moment i have a 6 ft x 2 ft x 2ft fresh water tank which house a silver aro, 5 clown loachs, 4 bala sharks, 1 sailfin pelco, 1 albino pelco, 2 red melon discus, 1 bumble bee catfish and a few more neon tetra left in the tank.
i had no problems with them over food. Just make sure everyone is fed and yet again this method of mine is still an experiment. I won;t know what will happen when silver aro hits the 1 foot lenght.

My 10" silver lives with my frontosas and clown loaches without a problem. Mid-bottom level swimmers that the arowana cannot swallow are usually ignored.

Wow the silver aro in the pic really looks like mine, as in the designs and colouring... =x

Is this the common colours for a silver?

The silvers i normally i saw in MFKs are usually high shine or juz pure silver...
