Personally I'd grow the polypterus out a little bit before going in with a large arowana, in case they become snacks.

Wouldn’t keep a Senegalus with it. Arowanas growfast and big. It’s won’t grow fast enough and stays small for a while. Also while it’s trying to gulp for air the arowana May decide to eat it.
You can keep larger lower jaws and a few large upper jaws with arowanas like....endlicheri, ansorgii, lapradei, congicus, teugelsi, ornate and pbb.
