True the US has a regs against bringing in any endangered animal. It's highly concerned about the wild population status. Which we all should be. The problem with that lies in the need to breed and release more of them into the wild.

It's a shame that if these were legal to start with, they aren't chipped correctly.
Seems shady though.

Makes you wonder just how many of these fish are destin for the US anyway.

It just pisses me off to hear about all these LFS's stateside that actually have Asains in stock...

It blows not to have them leagally, but every illeagal fish here in the States, is just a step in the wrong direction IMO... :swear:

So what happened to the remaining 16 live illegal aro's? Did they dump them into a river or something?
 
i think someone should come up with an adopt a fish program. in vegas where i live there is a program for adopting a desert tortise. a rep from wildlife department will inspect your property and deem it habitable [if it is of course] and allow one to own a chipped turtle.i think it would be a great idea for endangered fish that are desirable to own, of course there should be guidlines for this as well ie, large enough tank, experience in fishkeeping etc. what do you guys/gals think?
 
I don't think it will ever happen. When it comes to endangered animals in the US, the gov't will never budge on it's stand. I have to agree with them. Keep another fish or go to a zoo and see them.

the desert tortise is endangered, and i know a few people who own them. never say never :thumbsup:
 
just out of curiosity why do you agree with them? what would be wrong with what im talking about. people could breed them and help replenish the population, i definatly dont see how this could hurt anything, do you? :grinyes:
