funk, funny you say that, freshwater cudas was what I was going to suggest.

A few acestorhynchus would be fine in an 80 gal, as long as it's wide enough. They are fast, flighty fish. They don't grow huge, but need more room than your average fish that's 6/12 inches.

I've owned wolffish and acestros, take it from me, acestros are WAY more fun than a malabaricus. One of the most underrated fish out there - acestrorhynchus.

I think some of the piranha stay small enough for an 80 but they are not my cup-o-tea.. maybe some of the smaller species of knife as well.

ya i was thinking pike piranha but all are illegal in california. I think im gonna go with barracuda. Do you think i should get one or how many?

This is my tank. i put my plecos in it and a few guppies

I think you've got those dimensions wrong man. A 4x2x2 is 120 gallons, not 80.

Is it like 20 inches wide and 20 high?

In the photo it looks much narrower than it is high, but that could just be the angle.

Either way if it's at least 18 inches wide it would be fine for cudas. They were very nervous in a 12 inch wide tank I had them in for a few days, they were much much happier in my 180, 2 foot wide.

If you can get them and afford them, get like 5 in there and a couple of bichirs.

Get a new tank or give up the arowana, its cruel to keep such a fish in conditions like that. Arowanas are well known for deforming or stunted growth where there eyes grow too large for there head and look all out of preportion when kept in these kinds of conditions for long periods of time
