After more than 2 weeks of refuse to eat, one of my pair of "new" arowana fish died today. The body of the fish is thin like a kitchen knife.... Other one is still refused to eat. And still scared of me. Because the aro is always hide behind the filter outlet. My 75 gallon looks like a blank tank of water that supported by total of 1050 GPH filtration....
I have already posted 2 thread to ask for help. This is my 3rd one. I really want to save this aro, after my 1st aro wound and finally killed by my oscars (Oscars are even smaller than aro), 2nd one died today, I really start to think arowana fish is a super high maintenance animal!!

Any help that get my aro to eat or not scared of me will be grateful! Thank you guys!!

a bigger tank would be a start. Plus an aro doesn't need 1050 GPH.

If they are so thin they may die, try force feeding. Or feeders.

I have a 125 gallon wait for aros, initial I bought the 125 for aros, but some people suggest me let aros stay alone, so they will fit into environment easier, I moved them to 75. Plus, when I got these 2 aros, I only set up the 125 for less than 3 weeks, not fully cycled yet.

How big are aros? I have never had a skittish aro... I have no clue why... I even used to have one in a 20 gallon with convicts and oscars (when i was a stupid noob hobbyist of course...) and he was fine...

What were the water parameters of the water they were in when you bought them? What is/was your tank your tank parameters? There are many water issues that can make these fish shy and there are many illnesses that can be set in motion when a fish is severely stressed.

Have you tried other live food other than feeders ? Worms , bloodworm , earthworm , mealworm , silkworm ? Try him on all of these im sure it'll eat something if you dangle it on his nose for long enough , also try krill freeze dried and frozen

1st, water is fine, a lot of people already advice my to check water parameters in my last 2 post.
2nd, I tried rosy red and live crickets. They don't eat them. And I have dangle a piece of raw shrimp in front of its nose for about 3 minutes several times a day for 3 days. No effect.
3rd, aro is about 8-9 inch.

But thank you guys very much.

Try dangle a mealworm in front of him , most reptile shops stock them as feeders , or earthworms out the garden
