Arowanas make me feel desperate!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Arowana get scared easily specially when they are new in the tank. They will not eat and try to hide. You can try to cover your tank with newspaper or something so the aro won't see any movement that caused it to act like that. Do it for a couple of days or until the aro swims comfortably. leave some feeders and don't bother it.

My father always does that to his arowanas tank, he said it because darker environment will give arowana fish brighter color.

When I was young my father has a lot of arowanas pet. He never allow me touch them or feed them. I thought he love his fish more than me. That when I start to want have arowanas as pet after I grown up. .... So every time I saw a arowana die. I feel so bad.

How did you get on with the meal/earth worms ?

I dangle a piece of earthworm in front of its nose for half hours. Arowana just swim everywhere to avoid it. Once I insert part of earthworm inside its mouth, and then it spite the worm out. Now my hand is too tried to hold anything. I have order a bottle of arowana stabilizer online and it will arrive tomorrow. Plan on use the medicine as my last shot.

Thank you. Jardini.

Nightmare ill have a think today see of I can think of a solution , good luck with the meds

Leave a piece of shrimp in some garlic juice, then drop it in and walk away. Also maybe turn off the flow for a little bit. They may be having a hard time swimming if the current is too much. Come back in a couple hours and see if he looks full

Have you tried earth worms?? I found that I cut a peice of shrimp thin like a worm hang it from the top of the tank with just a light weight on it so the fish can pull it out and eat it. Hang about an inch into the water so the fish can go by it smell it and eventually eat
