Arowanas Pond

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Not sure mate, I'm living in Thailand and i never use them. I'm from the UK so i know ponds can be heated. I have a freind that was in to Koi, but that's all i know. I think his pond was heated. He had to cover it in winter though so i think it can be done but it's a very expensive set up. Especially for Aro.

Maybe I better not try the aros then. Thanks a lot.

If you really want to keep Aros in a pond maybe you should consider Leis.
They will tolerate much lower temperatures than other Aros. My ponds get down to 54 degrees f in winter in the wild in their natural range they would experience temps down to 50. A lot easier to maintain than 80.

i tried to keep arowana in a 100 gallon outdoor premade pond, in the winter it gets as low as 40F at night. you need to keep the temperature in above 75F at all time. for me it wasn't practical as i cost 200/m to keep the small pond heated.

I stay in south carolina we have hot summers around 90 and above. In the winter its about 30 I would guess. So heaters would not do the job you think?
