Arowana's wiskers have shriveled up, why?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Let me point out, however, that Blacks have shorter barbels than Silvers.

water change + salt...dat would probably help

Thanks for the advise. I have only had the black aro for 9 days now. I have checked my water parameters every day and I must say their right on. The ich seems to be just about gone after 4 days of treatment. I am really upset about his barbs shriveling up and everyone I talk to can't explain why. I just want to know if their going to grow back. Today I have noticed that my one peacock bass's eye color has changed. The outer ring has gone from a redish color to a bright orange. I hope that's not a problem. I must add that I have a teacup stingray in the tank and he is doing exellent, (knock on wood). Anyone ever have the barbs shrivel up on an arowana?

ok really quick....
i forgot if you are chem treating along with heat treating. so if you are chem treating, be sure to run FULL course of recommended dosages. alot of times, people make the mistake of stopping the treatment due to the fish "looking better". Also, i would run the full temp treatment because this will kill an leftover mungrals. the recommended heat treatment is two weeks.
but, this is just my .02 from past experience.
good luck again
