Arowanas with Flowerhorns

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It works for me I have 7 4-5 inch red dragon flowerhorns in with 2 12"+ silver arows and they never dare to attack the arow.:)

my 11" barred midas (very similar to flower horn) is extremely mean, she is so mean i cant have her with anything. i tried a 12" clown knife and a 16" pleco and she whooped up on both, and i had to remove them, she wasnt even acclimated to the tank yet either when i put the other ones in.

shes even more aggressive now, i cant even put my hand in the tank without her trying to thrash my hand. she pulls the fibers off the algae scrubber and she knocks the glass magnet off when it moves.

ive never, ever, seen a meaner fish.

needless to say, she has her own tank.

I've kept a flowerhorn with an aro before... never had any problems! see my avatar....:naughty:

If your tank is big and maybe if they grew up together or not just one fh and thesame size fh's it might work saw a couple of this already and seem to be fine with some small nit picking w/fellow fh's.

i kept my maiting pair of FH with my 20" silver aro and no problems the whole time they were together. only reason theyre not together anymore is that i sold the aro.

i use to keep my 1.5in fl with my two 6in silver aros he was able to hold his own chaseing the aros around i had 2in oscars that all got eatein the same tank......a few times the aros knocked into him and he got hella heated and started nibbleing i thought it wus funny

Wow... Of course he could hold his own... He could EAT them if he wanted to... And to the person that said don't hate: I can hate if I want to because flowerhorns suck and pbass and pike cichlids own all.

Then that's your own opinion. We respect that.

It's just that we all don't condone with purism either.

Guys, let's not go offtopic. This thread is asking for compatibility between the arowanas and flowerhorns, no purist/hybrid issue so that issue should stay out. Could we please respect that?
