How big do they get in home aquariums,I had 2 years ago and they where only 1.5 feet each.Lf's here use to have 1 litle over 2 feed,i know in the wild they can get around 6 feet,but thats also in the wild. I dont have a clue about jardini's? any info would be great.

no they can't get around 6 feet, there are no silvers that big. Wild sizes are 3 to 4 foot. Captive sizes are usually 2 foot to 30 inches. There have been some 3 foot plus silvers in public aquariums etc

I saw a pic of one that was around 6 foot but i cant find the article, it showed a fisher man standing beside this huge arowana,so they called it. But thanks for the feed back.I also read they should be house in atleast 6 foot tank as an adult.
It's a bonytongue but not an arowana. But yeah, if you have one of those , expect it to get HUUUUUUGE.
They'd need more than that as an adult. I would recommend 8' by 30" minimum for an adult silver. Jars, leichardtis, and asians could get away with a little smaller tank though.
correct. silvers in captivity would average 2 feet, you'd be lucky to find anything close to 3 feet in length. paimas on the other hand would be another SIZEABLE discussion
I had a link showing an 8 ft wild aro on my laptop, great link, it was aro info, fanstatic, my laptop is a little upset right now, I'll try to recover. I've talked to a few people who say their have reached 3.5 ft in the right size aquarium with large tank and room to really grow. They're going to adapt to their enviroment to survive. I let you know, mine was a few inches in September and now over 18" and growing really long really fast, like before my eyes!!!!
