Arows LOVE salmon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Haha you are right Mr Pleco!
As far as im concerned people are gonna feed their fish whatever they want anyway.

I used to feed a self prepared food that had both Tuna and salmon in it to my Exodon and Pirahna. I got the cuttings from a fish department for cheap.

On the good side, they had very fast growth.

On the bad side. The oil. I had increased algae growth in the tank. The oil from the fish would literally leave a ring in the tank. It was way to messy after some time.

Use a white fish.

salmon fillet is good stuff, dunno what you guys are talkin bout :screwy:

salmon is high in protein, low in fat levels and has a high Omega-3 fatty acids content :headbang2

The natural colour of salmon results from carotenoid pigments, largely astaxanthin, in the flesh.

dont make this a staple though.

:iagree: This is good stuff!

I wouldn't say it's good if it's the only thing the fish eats. I know if I ate salmon everyday I'd most likely be rather obese or dead.

No way! McDonald's will kill you Salmon will save your life!

Ahahha McDonalds definitely will kill you. I try to stay away from that stuff, I eat fish about 2 times a week! Gotta keep in touch with my other side.

Salmon is excellent but always give different foods as well as amatter of fact Salmon is one of the foods Jack Wattley uses in his mixes of frozen foods

Too oily ( for my taste ) and my aro's:irked:

Wow everyone thanks for ALL the info:nilly: . So many different opinions but I will stay with the ones based on some facts presented as well...so Salmon it is. Thanks a bunch...As far as oil is concerned I don't allow it to sit in the tank for any longer than a minute before I scoop it out. Usually it only gets about a quarter the way down before it is scooped up.

My arows will hit it as soon as it hits the water:headbang2 then they go nuts for more. My gars have observed them and now want salmon too. It is cheap comparitive to fish food.
So now my arows diet consists of krill, salmon, shrimp, pellets and the ocasional feeder that my knifes don't eat quick enough. I will try some white fish too soon.
