arrowana and neons

Read a post somewhere recently about someone who likes to use neons to feed his monsters... not sure if it was here or aquaticpredators.net. He'd get 'em for $0.08 each and toss 50 or so in, and replenish every so often.

i dont think a full grown arow would eat a neon, thats like us eating bread crumbs

I would expect to lose afew but them is the breaks, Other tiny tetras I think would look great are glowlights, pristellas, and lemon tetras. as for the mayan cichkid, well aren't they abit bigger than these tiny tetras. I wouldn't try it until the aro was close to full grown, don't want it in the habit of snacking on tidbits. And for the one who asked about neons, here are the neon, glolight, pristella, and lemon teras. They are all about the same size, about 2.5 cm as adults.

good job for sharing the pictures, ya i saw pictues of some hobbist who comm neons and an arowana. In all those pictures, all their tank were planted tanks, so that poor tinies can hide among the water plants.

i havent come across a totally bare tank of arowana and neon tetras mix. its like putting in a buffet of feeders for the monsta'!

I had white clouds with my silver aro. They would hid inbetween the cracks of my river rock when the aro came by. Then I went on a little vacation and they were gone.

I would wait til the aro got big and always keep it full.

i have seen aro in a planted tank together with neon tetra in a LFS and it looks awesome...

the aro doesnt seems to bother about the tetras...... just swimming around and around

Always think of putting a bunch of neons in a big tank ,but always end up with big fish sounds like the best of both worlds.If the aro doesnt swallow the whole school in one gulp!
