ken lee thats a bad way to start your first post. this is public forums to ask questions. why else would people ask questions here?

to the original poster, i suggest a minimum of 6x3x3 for an asian aro, bigger the better as everyone stated. though aro may look comfty in a tank that size to be honest you dont know how that feels...so bigger the better think of your fish as your best friend.

^^ true ;)
FOR YOUR FIRST ARO DO NOT GET AN ASIAN MR CANADA... YOUR CRAZY .. IF IT DIES YOULL CRY. I WISH XBACKS AND REDS WERE LEGAL HERE.
YOUR TANK WOULD HOUSE JARS AND LEIS A BIT BETTER THEN THE SOUTHERN REGION AROS LIKE SILVER.

hi chago09
I went from discus to an rtg , if you've been keeping your discus happy you should have no problem getting the water right for an asian .
Aros are more tolerant than discus on water quality - but dont like sudden changes so keep the water changes regular and no more than 25 - 30 % a time .I do once a week changes normally , over filtering your tank is a safe bet also , i'm running an fx5 and a xp3 plus 2 huey hong sponge filters in my 600 ltrs
You will find that your aro will come up to you and look at you to feed him just as your discus do, when you walk in the room once hes settled in .
Whatever you decide good luck - i would recommend the asian if you can afford one though.

Cheers
Steve

Here are some rough ideas for prices, this would be for young fish( 4-6") and price depends on quality:
Green: 400-500
RTG: 900-1300
Super Red: 1800-3000
Cross Back Gold: 3800-8000

Good Luck
