You should probably read through the stickies b4 purchasing an aro. And yes temperaments range between species greatly actually.

I know a Lei is an arowana...derrr!! If you reread my post you'll see the part where I said they were the only ones I would really CONSIDER gettin right now. . Not gonna go out of my way to get any arowanas though, but if one pops up, a Lei that is, I'll probably find some reason to get it...lol

I sit here wondering... any reason for lei than a jar? If you hate the jar for it roidrage than the lei isn't as peaceful as you think it is. They are pretty similar in term. For common they have anger/killing management, what not common is the price value on both. One is like double to triple the value of another. Lei are expensive but more rare. Your fish, good luck finding the Lei.
