the SIM card is that little plastic thing usually underneath the battery that stores your phone numbers. That is unless you saved them to the phones memory.

my old phone went swimming twice once in the river and then in the lake!! thank god for castnets and sunscreen!!:headbang2 it took me like 30min the first time and almost an hour to find it the second time i took the battery out and dried it oof best as possible..put it infront of the fan all night and the next day i put the battery in and it worked fine.(it was a samsung 8920)
recently i got well there's not even a word for how drunk i got on my 21st i dove in a fountian and yeah i was to sloshed to take the battery out and luckily for me i have insurance. lost 225 phone numbers!! now i'm up to 25!!:headbang2

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't...

IMHO... take out the battery, dry out the phone, put in the battery...

Now it should turn on, but it might not work for more then a day... So then write down all the phone numbers as soon as you turn it on, and then if it dies, at least you have the #s

I've got a nokia [cant remember the number] with the black rubber sorta case. They're pretty tough, I had mine sitting on the cover of the spa pool one night, got out of the spa, flipped the cover back on, when inside and got dressed then started wandering around looking for my phone...
About 10 minutes after getting out, I clicked and ran out to the spa, opened it up and sure enough there was the phone sitting on the bottom saying '1 New Message'! Worked fine ever since.

Use the sim card, unless you have all or a lot of numbers saved to phone memory, they'll all or partially be on the SIM card. Photos, not so lucky.

every phone ive ever had have gone in water at least once. took'em apart and dried them and they still worked. except one, its in sardis lake somewhere
