ARTC(wyckiodes) tank looks empty ?????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yup i learned the lesson
even fast swimming fish like danios cannot match the wyckiodes
the tank with wyckiodes was a major fail comm (no offense bro) but had to say that and not many see that comm

I'd say take out his hiding spot. I slowly have taken out all hiding spots in all my cat's tanks. They are all fine. Might take a week or two for them to get use to the human traffic comming by the tank, but they will eventually get use to it, and seems that catfish become more personable once you remove these hiding spots.

i think i will try losing th ehiding spots
but he is just so happy with his hiding spots
even at night he moves from one hiding place to another before he zips to the surface for a snack and then back to his cave
and last time i removed his hiding place he had destroyed the bio filter in the tank (actually broken it and had found a snug little place inside the filter
will update what happens when i gradually remove his hiding place

I remember when I first started to get into fish, a LFS had like 20 2" ones for 3 bucks. I was excited and almost got a FEW. lol Then something happened and I had to leave real quick.

Mine hides too. Right now he hasn't killed anyone...yet, just roughed up a few fins here and there. He comes out to check things out once in awhile. Make sure everyone knows he is still there.

It's pretty amazing, I see him then wont for awhile and when I see him again and he is like way bigger then last time.

yeah every time i see him he looks to have grown a little(may be because of the loooooooong time no see thing) LOL

LOL the ageless conundrum of the ARTC. Without question in my mind the MOST beautiful catfish in the world, but they can't be kept with tankmates and no...you never see the reclusive SOBs...a cruel mistress..:)

yeah but once they get big and when you cannot provide a good hiding place then they can't go invisible
at least thats what i am rooting on
