Artillery Trainees

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i was a gunner for the past three years. but now that it is time for me to become a tank commander they put me on recruiting orders. in iraq i was on my feet. gunning from the back of a hummer for 4 mo. then the rest of the time i was a section sgt. so i led patrolls from the inside of an up-armor hummer. they have hit tanks w/ all kinds of stuff and the tanks just keep rolling. but the armor isn't 100% tho two weeks before we came home the insurgents put a huge bomb in the road and killed a young man i use to work with.

how is it on the inside of a m1 while its running; is it loud as hell or not bad? what about when the gun actually fires (assuming you ever fired it...)? is it hot and sweaty and stuffy in there? how long do you have to train for to be able to work in a tank?

guesswho when were you over there? i just got back a few months ago. the tank in tankninja is for M1A2 SEP. you're right they cann't do a whole lot on a level playing field can they.

I started in 1975 USMC (RECON) E5, Army 1982 to 1990 CPT but my career ended in 1988 bad parachute accident when I jumped in with my platoon both knees back and left shoulder. I work in a G-3 shop now and get all the goodies from my buddies when they return. Some I review and destroy. I sure dont want anything to be used by some of these asswholes who want to attack our misguided govenment by using the warriors themself. NOT ON MY WATCH EVER.

To TANKNINJA thanks for your service my brother glad you made home it in one piece. Airborn all the way!
