Hey guys,
Here is a pic of my old pinima I owned many years back! I had to sell it because I didn't have a big enough tank to house it properly. But I did regret selling it miss my old fishy friend. This pic was from many years back when Peacock Bass keeping wasn't as cool as it is now with all the young hobbyist coming up! Keep up the good work everybody, and PBASS owners rule the MFK Forums!

What size tank is ideal for pinima and how big do they get?

Sup Ken, at that time i only had my 240 gallon and the Pinima was about 16 inches. I did not have the 560 gallon hot tub as I do now. But i think they get about 24-30 inches in captivity. They are a close cousin to Temenesis but the rarer type.

I asked because the one in your photo looked pretty big. Seems the UK boys have got all the pinimas. Wish you still had yours.

Dying to get one of these, and just curious how long did that planted tank setup work with your cichla? Because mine love to mess with any kind of plants I want to put in their tank they think its a new toy so they up root the plants by rubbing up against them. It gets me so mad sometimes, because I will put them back in place and seconds after taking my hands out they just do it all over again:nilly:

My orino used to pull my plastic plants out with his mouth and have it floating around :irked:

Mine never really did a lot of uprooting. They would just break off a leaf or two.
