We are looking for a large aquarium and have had zero luck in our search thus far. We have a specific footprint (72"x24" with height preferably between 30" and 32") because the aquarium will go in our wall. Ideally this would be something I would go pick up from my LFS after ordering it in..

I've called a aquarium custom builder that lives several hours away and the quote I got from him to do the build was $9300.00. Not even joking here.

Are there any generic aquarium brands that go big ie. bigger than 180 gal? I wouldn't mind saving myself several $1000's if I am able to.

I have always had luck putting ads on Craigslist.

Yes, to a point. A 72x24x30" is a standard size glass aquarium made by a few different companies. If you are looking for acrylic I'm sure Tenecor could build and ship you one for 2-3000 dollars.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not against building myself. I've built a 150 with my dad years ago but I'd rather spend the extra cash (not $9300.00 extra lol) and just avoid having the doubts of if it will hold water or not. You're right Bderick67, it's not an outrageous size or anything, I'm just having zero luck finding one after searching the classifieds and asking the LFS' if they can get one in. Everytime I go in it's new staff and none know up from down, I'm sure you know what I mean, lol.

Perfecto and All Glass has a standard 220 with the exact dimension your looking for 72"x24"x30". try finding a Lfs that carries these brands.$9300 is nuts my friend paid a couple of grand less for his 900g and it was shipped to Hawaii of all places! if you can't find a Lfs that carries these brands of tanks contact Tenecor.

You could get a 180 tank 72x24x24 from just about any local fish store. AGA which is now Aquiden located in Wisconsin. Sorry I did not see that your in the Kremlin.
