if you are in Alberta you should be contacting the best Canadian made tank, Miracles Aquarium located in the GTA. amazing tanks, some of mine lasted 20 years without a reseal.
they are pricey, but you get what you pay for. a 220g tank should be built of excellent quality IMO. that much water is no joke. they make a standard 220g size which you could order from your LFS if you wish. all their tanks are made with black silicone which is nice because it is much better than clear.

I also like Aqueon Aquariums, I had a 150g built with custom black silicone (see my sig) that is very good.
both companies make very good tanks. I personally do not like Marineland tanks as far as the big tanks go, as their 150s, 180s and 220s are made with slightly thinner glass than both Miracles and Aqueon.

We have an AGA 210. it is only 29" At that depth with 3" aragonite I am up to the armpit whenever I need to get to the bottom in an emergency.
Ours has the megaflow weirs and they work great at keeping the WC clear. They are not in the corners so you see no plumbing from the sides but do protrude 4 inches or so into the tanks footprint.
Aqueon makes it now as they matured from AGA, pretty sure you can get these at a LFS nearby.

I've always found when looking into special ordering tanks from a LFS.. go straight to the top.. IE talk to the owner/manager. These are the popel who do the ordering, and priceing to begin with.
you should be able to get a hold of an aqueon 225 for around 800 new or even slightly cheaper USD so whatever that conversion is. and thats 72x24x30tall. goodluck
I have an Aqueon 210g (holds 217g) that is 29" tall. I found this on Craigslist for $500 including stand and glass tops. Not that it was a super deal of a price but it was all unused and had the pet store stickers still on it. The guy never set it up, so I thought it was a pretty good deal! Seems like there should be some pre-made tank to fit the need for cheap.
I see you are in Calgary. Call up Big Als, I'm sure they have a location there. My bet is you can get a 220g All-Glass or Perfecto Tank for about 700 dollars or so. I bought a 125g on boxing day for like $250. Just give them a shout. For sure under 1000 bucks.
