i do 2 x 25% water changes per week with no ptoblems

i think 30 SW per day is to much

i normaly feed 5 x meal worms twice per day until the aro gets to 10inch

10inch and above i feed 10-15 meal worms once per day

i find if you feed big amounts every day after about 1-2 months the aro may stop eating for a few days or even a week before it starts eatting strong again

Agreed on all counts. (allthough I do not change as much water weekly )

I keep Discus as well as monsters Aros and RTC.....i change water weekly.
30-40%. They all eat ALOT. 2-3 times a day. When you feed alot water quality suffers not matter your system. I think water changes as well as multiple feedings a day will keep them growing fast. I also agree with Miguel, If he stops eating, let him rest for a few days before feeding again.

I dun agree on the colour. Colour only develop over age and not size.:)
During the period of growth obese aros tend to have a washed out colour compared to aros that are fed less- both aros may eventually have the same colour when they reach maturity- I had a RTG that was on hunger strike for more than 2 months- It had beautiful intense colouration whereas one from the same batch that was feeding well was pale in comparison-obviously these are the two extremes- what we are aiming for here is a well balanced aro.

what if u have rays in the tank with aro... how often and how much water are you suppose to change?

i do a 40-50% weekly water change all in one go and have never had any problems personally.
i do treat the water and match the temp as close as poss and the ph is exactly the same from the tap to what is in the tank.
