Actually I did a guy out of Berkley California during the 1980's had pre ban Asian Arowanas that he had to acquire a permit for them, that is one I have heard of. I could not confirm it though (never saw the 1000 gallon tank they were allegedly kept in).
 
Might be a stupid question but what does one need to do to become a public aquarium?
 
since oddball so graciously provided us with the emails of some people with the power to do things..... why not all of us bombard them with emails or setup some sort of massive petition which we and all our friends could sign electronically and then shoot out a hail storm of emails?....... BTW it was my birthday yesterday :)
 
I hate these threads. I would love to own a nice red or gold asian, but fact of the matter is we will probably never own one. Would people just please stop asking about licenses/permits to own one. I think you have a better chance of owning a tiger than an asian arowana.
