Thanks! Yes, I make these myself. I worked for a taxidermist for a while during high school, and the guy I worked for also did wood carvings of trout. I learned from him and did some wood carvings over the years and sold a few. It was an easy choice to make these. I love Asian aros, can't own one yet and thought it might be a good way to help conservation.

I carved an original and made a mould of it. These are reproductions of the original that I make myself. I've got 5 in various stages of completion. I've modified one to have an open mouth in a pose like it's coming up to take food off the surface. I also have a larger original in production and a completely different pose. Painting takes around 10 hours per piece and involves between 40-50 stages/steps to complete.

I enjoy making these, and I like having them in my house so if I don't sell them, it's no big deal. I'm donating some of them to various organizations too.

Man, that's awesome. You should post pictures of the process in the DiY if you ever start from the ground up again! You've got a real talent!
