exactly, same deal with people in maryland who keep snakeheads. there not all illegal to own there, but they are illegal to transport into the state. and every other state in the U.S there all illegal in. and there not naturally occoring species in MD

There are many species that are on this "grey" list. Redtail catfish for example are illegal to import, but if they are already in the country there is nothing illegal about them at this present time. I tried getting some in and got refused.

I know of a place in Brisbane that currently has a Super Red A+++ Grade Arowana going for $6,600.00 if that helps.
 
I am going to close this thread.

Although owning an asian arowana is not illegal in Australia they are illegal to import.

Having said this...you will also find that a lot of asian arowana in Australia are also uncertified. This itself is also illegal.
