Just to throw it out there, I have a few aussie friends from a cichlid forum who all refer to aussie aros as barramundi.

No I agree. I just don't like people trying to make them selves look clever by mocking others.
Now I realise I'm argueing with a 14yr old I can't be bothered. You would expect as much from a child.

You can compare arowana from diff countries because each of them have something good about them..
e.g asian with color and Aussie with aggression and size
i would compare lei with Aussie and Asian vs Asian cause there are many varieties

p.s just checked with my aussie mate and jars are called spotted barramundi

Regardless. I'm a arowana lover and thus I have both. Both are just as dear to me. Only different is how much I spend getting them.

I agree, both types of aros have their charm. I quite like both and i have both as well.

Regardless of age, we all learn from each other. If a person coming into this hobby at the age of 30 automatically make him better than a 15 year old who's been at it for 5 years? I don't see how he was mocking anyone, just pointed out a simple fact. And yes...I've heard the term Baramundi as a term for Australian Aros as well. Just because it's listed as "Spotted Baramundi" the name "Baramundi" is still synonymous with it.

Now as for the Asian Aro vs. Australian Aro thread, it doesn't matter as long as you like them.

Are you trying to start a culture war between ASIANS and AUUSIES? In my opinion, the ASIANs have done a fine job of breeding superior fish. They're progressing the hobby in great strides. I might be wrong, but if you think I am, show me a fine AUSSIE specimen.

you guys have koala bears, kangaroo's, and FRT's..those are fine AUSSIE specimens.
