This is all hypothetical of course...

In the midst of a search for asian aros, I was informed that a particular supplier could get whatever I wanted-reds, green, rtg, xback, etc. I figure, I'm broke and could spring for a green. No worries he tell's me. Then he tells me all the aros have certs-except for greens. WHen I asked why, the only response was because they are bred so prolifically that they simply do not have certs. Mind you, this was the middle man, so there may be some truth to this, or none at all.

My question is...do green aros have certs?

There are some who do and some who dont. Same goes for other kinds of asian aros. A cert is to determine if the fish came from a regulated farm and to insure that you are getting what you paid for.

But hey, youre in NJ .. you cant get a Asian Aro here. You dont want F and W knocking on your door do you ??

What does a green aro look like?

I think what the middleman said about them being prolific is BS. All Asian Arowana's are the same species and the green is the least sought after. The cert is to make sure the aro is bred in captivity to make sure no more asian aros are harvested from the wild. All asian aros for sale should have a cert otherwise it may have been harvested from the wild and contributing to the possible extinction of the species. It sounds very fishy (no pun intended) that he doesn't offer a cert with greens. Greens are very plain compared to other asian aros, i hope the middleman isn't hoping to substitute the green he is offering with something like an australian aro...

green aro mostly dont come with cert in usa cuz they r cheaper aro. they dont even bother to bring it here..

heres my greenie

My green came with a cert. I think that all asian arowana imported comes with cert. It proves that it is captive breed in the farms and not taking from the wild.
Also proves the identity of the arowana if it is bought from a trusted dealer.

I am still thinking scam.
