asian box turtle, yellow belly, and snapper

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Many turtle species can be kept together in a suitably sized emclsure like a outdoor pond. Maps, cooters, painteds, sliders and chicken turtles do great together if there is enough space. Like allways some specimens are grumpy and the keeper must have a open eye for agression. Asian boxys, specially females do great with other peacefull asian turtles like Heosemys, Pyxidea, Sienbirockitella, etc. The main reason to avoid mixing boxy with slider is that sliders are much more voracious and fast then asian boxys. On the other hand male asian box turts can be excedingly agressive and kill other turtles.

I bet you would have done your research well enough but your impulsive tendencies had you where you are now. I think your best bet is to plan out the proper tanks to separate certain species accordingly, without grabbing the next interesting herp you see.

Not to be nasty but you should sort your priorities out & only keep what you can accomodate and have the time to care for.
i am. i am getting rid of some of my box turtles, my common musk turtle, and possibly even the yellowbelly we are talking about.
