I've kept orange chromides but, don't have any now. I do have a couple of green chromides. The 3rd species (Canara Chromide) lives in pure freshwater so, I can't keep them with the green chromides. (I just bought 1/2 of Wes' stock).
Here's a little info on the canara chromide:
Canara Pearlspot Cichlid ... Etroplus Canarensis
This incredible Cichlid was first described in 1877 - and never seen since! In fact, the species was widely accepted to have become extinct, until it was re-discovered in 1997. Export since have only been sporadic, and very few specimens have been exported for the aquarium trade.
The Canara Pearlspot Cichlid is also called the Banded Chromide, and is the third Cichlid known to occour in Asia. The two others are the common species Etroplus maculatus and Etroplus suratensis. Unlike these two species, Etroplus canarensis is found in pure freshwater only, so do not add salt. The Canara grows to about 4.5"
It has not yet been bred in aquariums, and the collecting season in India is very short. They are only found in a short river stretch of 2-3km of the Netravati River.
