i don't see that ever happening
not trying to flame just thought it was funny :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

I wasnt refering to two types of catfish being made to create a new kind of cichlid but Iwas stating two different cases, the Tiger Shovelnose and the Redtail catfish being one and whatever two fish were put together to create the Flowerhorn fishes. Thanks for pointing out that I didnt word my statement properly. ROTFLMAO.

as much i hate to burst your bubble.. i don't think its possible either.. breeding reg asian aros is hard enough, let alone african ones

Which bubble are you bursting and who said anything about Africans?

anything is possable look at all the hybrid junk thats being made right now

as the resale price of a jar is so low the only asian aro they would cross it with would be a asian green

come to think of it why would anyone want it to happen anyway

I would say that it is possible, bothe being Scleropages....

I would like to see it happen because I like the look of the Jardini but not his temperament. I have a single Jardini in my 200g tank and it looks kind of empty right now (he's only 10"). It would be nice to give him some tank mates but I don't want to feed him expensive feeders.

Once he's full grown, he'll at least fill more of the tank.

it wounldnt be any less agressive than a normal jar

green asian aros come a close 2nd with aggression with aros

Because if its a hybrid then maybe it will be allowed to be kept in the U.S. but someone sould call f&g to see if it would still be a banned species and I understand about why destroy the pure bloodline but hey some people don't mind hybrids. It may be the only chance we can get some type of asian aro here in the states

nope its been discussed on board before and we all ended up with the impression they would still be illegal in the usa.... it is possibly possible in a test tube/lab but real world, il eat my shorts if i see proof of em breeding naturally....

if you were it was going to be tried you would hope that they would at least use rtg genetics over green.... but yea they would no doubt use green....
