Asian red tail cat.

I went to the closest LFS an saw a few asian redtail cats 2-3" for 9.99. I had one years ago that was a good 12" an didnt try an eat my other fish. Im thinking of buying one to start my new 29 Gal off.

Anyone have any good info bout these guys?

not good for a 29 thats for sure. they grow quick and get mean as hell

Don't be so tempted to buy these fishes. They're cheap, but just not for everyone.

WHATS THE BEST SIZE TANK FOR IT? AND HOW SMALL OF OF A TANK COULD U GET AWAY WITH IF U BUY IT VERY SMALL AND PLAN TO KEEP IT BY ITSELF?????

I probably would not go anything less than a standard 180.

It's true that they grow much bigger to be sufficiently housed in a 2ft wide tank, but let's be serious here, who can show me a 3ft long asian red tailed catfish in captivity???? unheard of.

what do u mean when u say killers are they that aggressive or is it mostly cause of there size over everything else??? always wanted one but glad to find this all out before it ate my dog

There is one in our LFS that is over 2 feet long.

This boy can be pretty nasty in your fish tanks and if housed with other fish can be lethal they get to 38”. not to be confused with red tail that gets to 5+ ft.
