ditto to the other posts i got one a long time back thay grow fast i had mine for 2 weeks in my koi pond thought it was dead till i went to do a water change lol. from what i have read and herd thay are really nice when thay are small it is when thay get bigger thay start gitting mean. thay dont care if the fish will fit in there mouth or not thay will try and eat it weather it is hole or in little pieces lol. dont get me wrong i love the loos of the arc but i dont like the fact that thay are hard to sell when thay get larger and a 220g to 300g tank with one fish is kinda boring.

nice fish, i have 3 of them. my biggest one is in with my RTC, TSN, RTCxTSN and my TSNxLEI. and he does just fine with the other catfish. keep me updated on him.

From what im hearing if done properly from a small fish there is a CHANCE they might do okay in a community tank of larger, more aggressive fish. Good luck.

I had an ARTC about the same size in a tank with assorted cichlids for a long time without any issues. It's a risk but worth the reward, they are amazing fish! Just thought I'd give you some positive news.

If you'd be willing to ship him I'd buy him of you if he's a decent price. I almost bought one the other day but the tanks were nasty!

I doubt you got an ARTC, Hemibagrus wyckioides. It is more likely Hemibagrus wyckii. When he is close to a foot, it will become clearer.

While small they can be and mostly are timid, as has been said. When big, like a foot and longer, they will very likely turn aggressive. It's a big gamble to leave them in smallish tanks with tankmates by then. Big ones have been safely kept in large tanks/ponds. I've had two 1.5'-ers in my 40'x6'x3' pond with a 100 other large fish. They kept to themselves in their clay pots. One day they found each other and won't stop fighting, so had to be separated.
