asian red tail

MIne is about 1 foot long. He EAT ANYTHING !!!, I lost 2 bichirs because of him lol.

I love him though, it's so much fun watching him hunt and eat. I feed them 6-8 goldfish (about 1.5-2") long a week, spread over 3 times a week.

I have put a dozen feeder goldfish in my tank and he ate 10 in a matter of 30 minutes. He would've ate the other 2 if my tiger shovelnose hadn't got to them yet.

He grew about 4" in the last 2 months, so be prepapre. I have a 135 gallon tank now, but he'll propably outgrow them in a year or two..

just bought a 2 inch asian red tail cat fish
any suggestions,opinions,advices, anything helps thanks

I used to have an 8" one it was very agressive mild tempered at a younger age but as soon as it hit the 7/8" mark it became very agressive towards my other fish even fish bigger than it like my 15" arowana and 8"severums.

have had a few over the years- they grow fast, and are fairly aggressive, as previously stated. Truly beautiful catfish!

You stated in another thread that you have a South American RTC. This thread is about the Asian RTC. Totally different fish.

they pretty much would eat anything and are a hardy fish.
