I have had this Asian Red Tailed Catfish for a month now... in a 55, Him and the dovii are pretty small. Dovii is 4 inches,ARTC 5 inches. Anyways I saw a Red Tailed Catfish for $34.99, and he was 5 inches, would he get along with the asian red tailed cat? My Asian red tailed did take over the tank and chases the dovii, but the store manager said that if the red tailed cat is bigger then the Asian red tailed cat they will be fine? Do you think they will get along? Just asking you guys, $35 is alot for a little guy?

I dont know what ARTC appetites are like, but im pretty sure a South american RTC will gobble him up and try to eat your dovii, and probably lose
ARTC are notoriously aggressive, and get almost as large as an RTC.
Most people think they will have time to upgrade, but they don't. Stuff always comes up. You've already got one monster catfish in that tank, please don't buy another one.

btw you figure in decoration... the 55 gallon is all ready overpopulated for these type of fish.... plus they are all about to get to that size... WWIII... FTL!! poor fish and i think it says he has a 200 gallon... that tank is still way too small just get rid of those catfish now...

To step over the elephant in the room, I'll just say I've heard some mean tales of how vicious ARTC's can be. Out right murderous in some cases. And at LFS, I only see them housed alone. Ominous at best.
Did you leave off a zero ? surely you mean 550 right ? you must have ment 550 not 55 huh?
Because keeping a ARTC and a Dovi together in anything at all is plain wrong.
Errrr no they will not "get along" first off they will compete to try and eat your Dovi ... after they have eaten him which might take a few weeks the ARTC will begin to tear bits off the RTC. and slowly eat him as well.
If the store manager told you they would be ok he's plain wrong and I wouldn't listen to him about anything.
