I dont have one, but I would like to get one in the future. Very cool looking fish. How big is your artc?

You should man get it young though you wont see him much but just knowing you have a soon to be monster is quite exciting.

Hi Jimus.

Ive had quite abit of experience with these cats.
My Largest one that i had for around 4-5 years grew from a little 2-3" beasty up to about 16-18" at the time of its demise.
It was a cracking fish, not aggresive at all to start with and was fine with my other fish - Cichlids & small Knifes, then i gradually began to see Horsehoe shaped Bite marks on the Knifes I knew it was time to move him out.
Was keeping him in a 450 Gallon pond with some Cats bigger than he was (RTC, TSN, Mammoratus) and although he was the smallest fish in the Pond he was more than capable of taking care of himself - never witnessed any violence except "territorial" disputes when any of the others tried to muscle in on his favourite cave.
The 2nd one I kept I only had briefly but was an absolute lunatic from the off!! :WHOA:
Only 4 " but pure mayhem. was housed originally with my Pike Cichlids & some Big 10" + lemon Barbs & the little beast would harrass the hell out of them, nipping their fins & scales so he had to be sperated.
These are truly wonderful fish but generally everything you read about them is true.
I think thenycan be kept to a point with other fish providing they have enough space & Im talking massive tanks/Ponds here and it is also dependant on the individual fish concerned.
I'd love to have another one but currently dont have the room for a one species only tank/ Pond and my other cats are to big for me to introduce a small one.
