Yes wickiodes grow with white, clear or even grey tails but sometimes their tails still are not a bright red, more a maroon even up to 8-10”. Which was why I asked.
To date I have not seen the real differences between maydelli and wickiodes and wondered if maydelli started younger with the red tails. Hard tell the size of the fish in the photo though but their fins seem very vibrant colour. Not exactly the same as all the less than 8” wickiodes I have raised but this could be diet also.
