I was wrong. ACTUAL shipping charges are $176-186. But there's no adoption fee for the soft-shelled turtles. Still pretty expensive.

Thats for warm blooded, fuzzy animals...........Delta Dash is now around $75-$80 for anything under 50lbs..........

I'm surprised they didn't freeze them all, seeing that any Turtle under 4" is the devil, and should be treated with extreme predjudice...........

I'd love to take one or two, but my experience is limited to North American turtles, albeit southern ones like cooters, a chicken turtle, and a sadly nostalgic slider (can you say Donatello '78??). Had a few snappers, but the wife is wary of them. Couldn't convince her that the alligator snapper is a mellow guy, unlike the common snappers that freaked her out, located too close to the washer and basement sink. Freakin' stalkers, they bent her perception of the mean mean animal that hunts and torments you. I should have put up a screen between the snapper & the washer & dryer... She loves my middle aged box turtle, and my 55+yr old cooter, Jill, who has been with us since 1978 when she was a feisty 25 yr old I adopted from a pet shop window. From day one, as cool and smart and affectionate as a medium IQ dog. I love this animal, and try not to anthropromorphize too much. She's been a solid, good dumb animal friend for half of my life. Not too shabby, eh?

Colorado Reptile Humane Society does not deal with warm blooded, fuzzy animals. Try researching their website instead of spewing misinformation :duh:

Was just at the Airport today.........Everything above was true and to the point.......Matter of fact, even when Delta was at its highest, I never had a crate/box 50lbs or under go over $125...........The rates quoted are for warm blooded, fuzzy animals, simple as that.........Doesn't matter if they rescue Aardvarks straight from Africa, but I guess I'm talking out my rear again...............

They state on the website that fees for the actual shipping are around $120, but that they have other fees they add on (packing, crate, gas for driving 100 miles to the airport, that kind of thing), which then bumps the price up by $50-60. Maybe they are overstating the price of AP to AP shipping, or maybe the website hasn't been updated with new pricing. Either way, its still a decent chunk of cash for shipping something that is only a few inches long...
