I'd love to take one or two, but my experience is limited to North American turtles, albeit southern ones like cooters, a chicken turtle, and a sadly nostalgic slider (can you say Donatello '78??). Had a few snappers, but the wife is wary of them. Couldn't convince her that the alligator snapper is a mellow guy, unlike the common snappers that freaked her out, located too close to the washer and basement sink. Freakin' stalkers, they bent her perception of the mean mean animal that hunts and torments you. I should have put up a screen between the snapper & the washer & dryer... She loves my middle aged box turtle, and my 55+yr old cooter, Jill, who has been with us since 1978 when she was a feisty 25 yr old I adopted from a pet shop window. From day one, as cool and smart and affectionate as a medium IQ dog. I love this animal, and try not to anthropromorphize too much. She's been a solid, good dumb animal friend for half of my life. Not too shabby, eh?
