i live in us so no asian, but jsut curious could u put a xb gold with discus? if the discus is big enough n u feed the asian nothing but fish food, i heard that if u don't feed the asian aro feeder fish its temperament goes down

i mean i no jars r aggressive, blacks r calm, but how bout a xb?

Would not do it the aro no matter what type it is tends to freak the discus out and they have different diets

you're slick buddy...lol

forget about getting an asian. And no, it will probably stress out the discus to the point of death. I've only seen discus work out with black arowanas, and this was once.

Regardless of the species, I do not think arowanas make the best tankmates for discus. Discus are very timid fish and become even more timid if kept with tankmates larger than them. Besides, what difference does it make in mentioning the Asian aros (and specifically a crossback gold at one) as tankmates for discus if they are banned in USA?

Discus should have tank of their own.
Even if you add peaceful Aro with them, they will be constantly stressed to watch the monster cruising around them. If hungry, aro might even attack them. Have tried this experiement before, so drop this plan.

Maybe not for long??

I've had a small asian arowana with a breeding group of discus before. At first it worked ok, but as he grew, the discus freaked out. They stayed low in the water, hiding in the plants all the time, went off food, and obviously stopped laying clutches until several months after the arowana was out.
