Well, the Pearsei decided to show him who was boss and lit him up for a bit. He submitted and now they are hanging together behind a piece of wood in the back corner of the tank. Looks like they are buds......pic is on my phone......and it's kinda dark...

Did the Nourisatti even really flare up or fight back at all? Cool that they seem to have worked through it that quick and damage free.

that is a old mature fish, somebody took good care of him before you got him.....good luck with him...

I need to try some of these someday..the only fish i tried was A. Robertsonii at 2" and he died of bloat....a month later...

Thanks! actively looking for a female or 2 to see if spawning is still in the cards. Really liking all the astatheros at the moment.
 
yes they are very uncommon, chk out http://www.cichlidenseite.de/, look at the quality of fish keeping...these guys are amazing....there are some astatheros in there if you look under "zu besuch"...pretty awesome tank setups
