Astatheros Robertsoni??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
sooo just letting you guys know i GOT THE ROBERTSONI:headbang2:headbang2 he still looks pretty beat up but actually looks better than he did the first time i saw him (didnt know it was a robertsoni at that time) but yeah i will def try to get a pic of him hes about 6in so hes the biggest one in the tank atm which im sure he will appreciate as the tank he was in at the fish store had either midas or red devils (i cant really tell the difference) along with a barred midas and some other aggressive cichlids (which was why he is all beat up, hes got some skin showing in a strip along his tail and a bite scrape on his forehead as well) but hes only been in the tank for an hour and already the dark stripes he had all down his body have lightened up to just some dark spots along his side :)

thanks and yeah i def will, ill try and get a pic of him tomorrow but as of now he hides when i get close to the tank, he actually ate though so i was excited about that as he obviously wasnt getting much food in the previous tank because his belly is QUITE sunken and he is already showing some blue again on his dorsal:headbang2

I always thought robertsoni's were cool until I tried to keep them.. never again! I'd take any other astatheros first. Try altifrons they're more peaceful and easier to keep in a community setting.

well he will be housed with other aggressive cichlids so i dont think that will be a problem he is with some baby gts and some texas now but they are all smaller but when everyone is grown i would think (from what iv read at least iv never kept them before though) that he will actually be the least aggressive in the tank

and yeah i do like the altifrons but they would def be too peaceful for my tank
