By Windy City in your ID section I assume you mean Chicago or there about, the robertsoni I had came from a Chicago breeder, so the ones at your LFS and that show up at the local meeting will probably be the same, if that's where you are.
And some mentioned they thought robersoni had aggression problems.
I grew up @8 together with no aggression problems at all. I believe its all about tank size as far as aggression goes.
If you put 3 or 5 six inch cichlids in a 50 or 75 gal tank, I would venture to say overt aggression should obviously be anticipated.
If you put those same cichlids in a 150 gal or larger, I would guess the outcome will be totally different

Yeah Chicago lol the store in question is aquarium adventure and they told me they got it imported in so might be a different source for the small chain store. I forgot they were either 19.99 or 29.99 for one. That store is always a rip off but you do get some donated fish for cheap

Are they adults? I would not pay $20-$30 for a juvenile.

Contact them. I get weekly emails and latest one mentioned it in stock. I bought from them before with good experience.

I got 3 from a Chicago auction I believe I paid $2 for all....

Sam that's a better deal than I got, mine were from the swap, and I believe mine were $3 each in a group of 8.

I've contacted gunpowder. He does have a group, unlisted, that he's willing to sell out of. Hasn't mentioned a size, but I've asked for pictures since he wants $11 a fish, and that seems high to me.
