yeah tell it again tell it again.
could you?
doo you have any other good jokes about fish and humans?

with a tank mate for now?

yeah but 2 oscars in a 77 gallon tank.
male atleast 8", and i'll more then likely look for a female near the same size.
filtration - xp3 and 404
do you think they could live for a bit in a 77 gallon happily together?
if i can't do that i'd just put him in alone or in the 120 gallon.
the oscar isn't exactly a strong fish in my tank right now

Ideally, the oscars would be better off in the larger tank, but if it's a matter of putting the two oscars in the 77g (I'm guessing it's some funky shaped tank) so that your other four fish can occupy the 120g, then yes, let the oscars occupy the 77g. It would be best to give them more room soon, but in the short term I don't see a problem with that, especially with the filtration you have.

...and yes, I am a genius. :D

nope, not a funky shaped tank.
normal hagen 77 gallon tank, the 4 foot tank.

is that your Oscar in your avatar?

if so hes a big guy and would love atleast a 75

oscars are very difficult to sex unless you have them from juvi and they pair of and spawn,,,it could be alot of trouble introducing another oscar to your exsiting one,,,i wouldnt reccomend it unless you have a bigger tank or another tank just incase it goes t##s up,which is a high probability it will<that was my only human joke>sorry but it had to be done>

If you're looking for a good tankmate for an O in a 77, I'd go with a JD he gets along with. or a few convicts. two large oscars would be too much. the JD probably wouldn't get much more over 10", are a sight to look at, and aren't much more aggressive than an O. the only thing you're gonna hear is that they are two of the more common fish out there.

The reason Oscars, Jack Dempseys and Convicts are so popular is because they are such great fish to keep.
